The french link is fast becoming more popular than the single jointed snaffle As it has two joints, it doesn't have the nutcracker action against the top of the mouth that the single jointed snaffles have.
The French Link uses pressure on the tongue along with bar and lip pressure to bring the horse down onto the bit.
The full cheek helps with turning especially with young or green horses as it stops the bit pulling through the horses mouth..
