How it works

Bits can be sold with or without a hire period. Most of our bits are available to hire for a period of  21 days.

At checkout please specify if you require the bit for hire or purchase via the tick box on the page.  You then proceed through checkout as normal and pay for the bit.

If you chose to hire the bit, you will then have a 21 day trial period which will start from the invoice date which is included with the bit. The return date that the bit must be returned to Salcey Saddlery by will be stated on the invoice included and will be approximately 21 days after the invoice date.

Bits that are received back to us within the 21 day period will then be refunded minus the hire charge of £7.50 (for bits under £100 and £10 for bits over £100) via the orginal payment method.

Should you want to return the bit to us please make sure that you clean the bit thoroughly. Please clean the bit with warm water only. We will thoroughly clean and disinfect all bits returned to us to kill any germs and bacteria. It is recommended that you thoroughly clean and disinfect the bit yourself again as a double precaution as Salcey Saddlery cannot be held responsible for any diseases, infections, viruses or mouth sores or ulcers or any other medical condition that appears after trialling one of the bits from Salcey Saddlery.  

It is also recommended that bits are returned to us using a recordable delivery as we can not be held responsible for bits that are lost in the post.

Salcey Saddlery will strive to send new bits out on hire but when this is not possible we will send pre hired bits out. If the customer wishes to keep the bit, the customer will be able to have the bit at a reduced price and will be informed of this price at the begining of the hire period.
